It Begins

I started Keto about 2 months ago and have already lost 20 lbs.  Well, I just gained 2 back because I went on vacation and splurged a little, but now I'm back to my new lifestyle. 

This is the EASIEST diet I have ever been on.  And I shouldn't call it a diet.  It is simply a different way of eating. I thought I would never make it on this plan.  I mean, no sugar??  Really?  Impossible! But, what I have found is that the fats I eat satiate me to the point that I don't even miss sugar.  I never would have believed it.

It does help that my husband is on the plan with me.  In fact, it was his idea.  I never would have even tried it - I mean, again, no sugar??? - but we had both gained so much weight we needed to do something.  He researched a lot of different plans and decided he wanted to do Keto.  I figured, why not?  I needed to do something, and having a partner should help.  So I did!

I had lost 25 lbs several years ago on a conventional diet.  And like all diets I tried before, it took forever to get it off, with lots of work, pain, and deprivation.  Guess what happened?  It came back with more (as has happened with every diet I have done over the years). 

Keto is different.  It's not hard.  It's not deprivation. Some of the meals I eat are downright decadent!  I'm never hungry, and the weight is just peeling off.

I should also mention, I'm over 50 years old, which makes this even more amazing. 

So this blog will be a log of my successes and failures and thoughts.  I'll share recipes, my ups and downs so that hopefully, you too, can be inspired to try Keto!
